@fishor: as Michael requested, can you walk through the debugging
hotkeys page at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting ? In
particular, reporting the results of 'gconftool -R /desktop/gnome/sound'
and walking through the xev steps would give us a better indication of
where your trouble lies.
