Hi, I will use the VT1 tests when I have access to a second PC at the same
time.  Until then, I have attached the last of the dmesg and the lsmod text
files.  Each time it's the

echo disk > /sys/power/state

command that sends my system reeling. When I do suspend normally, there
is no text console. I now know since re-reading that I need to add the
boot option and then try the process. I will attach photos next time.

Please let me know if you can figure anything out from the attached
files.

Also, after doing the 2nd of the three "echo" tests, after I waited long
enough, my graphics got corrupted, white with a bunch of striated dots,
and then my Caps Lock key started flashing.

Hi Barrett,

Do you happen to see any sort of kernel panic at all? Could you take a
look at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspendHibernateResume,
specifically the Debugging Suspend section? Would be interested if you
could try suspending from a VT1 mentioned there and if you might see any
errors upon suspend/resume. Please let us know your results. Thanks.

Status in “linux” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
System hangs, and Ctrl-Alt-Bkspc doesn't help; neither does Ctrl-Alt-F*. With
other versions, occasionally I would just get logged out and then in again. I
have never had suspend/resume working, with any distribution since Gutsy, with
neither the free driver nor the proprietary one. I have also followed the
instructions concerning how to resume with the proprietary driver.

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from
resuming properly.
