I created a persistent setup on a USB stick using the 'official' USB
installer in Intrepid. I haven't had any corruption problems (yet), but
the ext3 journal on the casper-rw (loopback) filesystem still seems to
get replayed on start up, which presumably means it wasn't cleanly
unmounted (or the blocks weren't flushed to disk in time.)

Scott: is there any specific information you need? Any debug we can
insert anywhere?
