a) Umh, sorry for the nominate, please ignore/reset that, I was trying to split the bug to "Jaunty: Invalid, Intrepid: New", but that's either extremely unintuitive to do in launchpad, or it's not possible for me at all. b) The bug is apparently no longer valid for Jaunty, since the version of xfce4-mixer contained in the 9.04 Beta release no longer has any options to store and manage different settings. c) The bug has changed for Intrepid in that I am no longer able to sort, disable, or hide sliders. I am able to select sliders in the File->Options menu, but this has no effect. In addition, it lists 2 devices: one "default" (the list is always empty) and "#0: SB PCI 512" (the list is always extensive). When trying to manage my settings in "View->Manage", I cannot. All fields are empty and disabled, except the "+". If I click "+", I can enter a name for a profile, but I cannot populate or modify it.
xfce4-mixer 1:4.4.3-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 xfce4-mixer-alsa 1:4.4.3-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 I use ALSA (back when I opened the bug I was using OSS). I have 2 sound cards, one onboard, and one in a PCI slot. The onboard ist the first device, but I don't use it. I hardwired my alsa to force it to use my second decive, the PCI soundcard (I had *extreme* trouble configuring Ubuntu to not use the onboard sound, which is probably the only huge minus concerning usability IMHO, but that's a different problem...), by blacklisting the onboard soundcard in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist. -- [xfce4-mixer] when editing a profile, the list of active items is randomized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256805 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
