I forgot to mention that I'm using fresh install of Jaunty Beta with
current upgrades.

After the HAL was restarted I've also noticed that the dmesg warnings present
before:
> dmesg | grep
[ 1259.684668] atkbd.c: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0x84 on
isa0060/serio0).
[ 1259.684674] atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e004 <keycode>' to make it known.
[ 1261.774481] atkbd.c: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0x89 on
isa0060/serio0).
[ 1261.774488] atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e009 <keycode>' to make it known.
[ 1262.706702] atkbd.c: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0x88 on
isa0060/serio0).

are gone now and HAL shows the keymap data not shown before:
> lshal | grep keymap.data
  input.keymap.data = {'e002:switchvideomode', 'e003:battery', 'e004:prog1',
'e006:wlan', 'e008:brightnessup', 'e009:brightnessdown', 'e031:prog2',
'e033:prog3', 'e034:wlan', '0074:prog1', '0075:www', 'e077:f22', '0078:mail',
'e079:f22'} (string list)
