I can turn this problem on and off now. I'm running Jainty and using an
HP Color Laser 3600n. If I set the printer to medium resolution I get no
images printed from news.bbc.co.uk. If I set the printer to high
resolution it prints out everything.

To get to the setting you can go System>Administration>Printing then
select the printer with a right click and select Properties. Under
Printer Options you will see Printer Mode. Try selecting High and see if
that helps.
