The BIOS was the latest (read from 2004), and yes the DSDT contains errors.
Well it works with "old kernels" as mentioned above. The only "other" OS that was ever installed was WIndows98 and I do not really remember the behavior. The laptop is in retirement for 3 month now, I do tend to give it away. And the broken optical drive makes the use of a LiveCD complicated, and boot from USB is no option in the BIOS. I fear can not give further information, and I would opt to send this bug into hibernation.
