I think I have the same issue, but it's only when I'm boot into the -rt kernel (that's 2.6.28-3-rt) When I boot into the generic (2.6.28-11-generic) kernel mouse and keyboard functionality is fine. Go in with the real-time kernel and sometimes it'll freeze straight after logging in, sometimes I might get a good 10 - 15 minutes activity before it freezes up. I know the system is still running because the system time still moves and it responds to me pressing my power button.
Now I'm quite a beginner at this stuff and I've never really had any input into bug-fixing so if anyone could point me in the right direction of any logs or data that might help find a fix you'd have to walk me though it. But I'm willing to get any info required.
