I've downloaded the daily snapshot dated 4/18/2008.
I processed it using the usb-creator application installed on an Ubuntu Jaunty 
i386 Desktop RC machine with all updates about 2 hours ago.  It did not boot 
for me.  This is a Verbatim memory stick 4 GB.  I am erasing it with "Partition 
Editor"/gparted by formatting the partition.  USB Creator always says the stick 
needs reformatting.   Next I will try installing from CD this latest day's 
Image, and will then try writing the memory stick from there.

I typed 'exit'  and it started processing again as shown by lights on the 
memory stick.
Then... this error:
run-init: overmounting root: Stale NFS file handle
[  933.162720] Kernel panic - not syncing:  Attempted to kill init!
