Sorry for the delay. I'm back to my jaunty pc, and after a huge update (a couple of weeks) system looks stable and pretty fast. I'm not able to reproduce the bug, still I'm not sure what was causing it. As long as I remember there was nothing about the freeze in Xorg.0.log, I'll post it if another freeze happens.
