Ah, you are right, I had removed nvidia-common because I thought I
didn't need a package describing itself as "Find obsolete NVIDIA
drivers". I didn't know that it provided other services to jockey too.
Therefore I shall close this bug.
Dmitriy: Your issue sounds unrelated, please file a separate bug if your
problem still exists.
