I have the same problem, with the same trace, on a X-86 32 bits.
My computer is a Dell Studio 540 and I've upgraded from Kubuntu 8.10 to Kubuntu
9.04

I ended up just rebooting from the command line. System booted up and I
was able to login again. I've not had any other problems with video.
This happens everytime I logout. Reboot and shutdown work without
issue.

It appears the X server crashed, bringing KDE along with it. Let me know if
you need any more diagnostic info.
