I'm attaching the output to /var/log/messages covering a period yesterday when I experienced this problem. I closed the lid at around 10:20 and opened it again around 11:55, to find the laptop was not suspended.
Looking at the logs, it's possible the laptop never suspended (that in itself would be a bug). I'll pay closer attention to whether the system gives signs of having suspended from now on and let you know if it happens again. I'm skeptical this is the problem, since this laptop passed "/usr/share/checkbox/scripts/suspend_test --full" with 100%. I'd be happy to provide whatever additional information might help track this problem down. > please try to verify whether this isn't actually a result of accidentally reactivating the laptop in hardware, since that seems to really be quite likely. Obviously, I can't observe what happening to my laptop when it's inside my bag, but I've tried and failed to trigger a resume by fiddling with all of the externally visible buttons, including the lid latch. ** Attachment added: "/var/log/messages transcript of failed suspend/resume" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26161315/suspend-bug-log.txt -- Inspiron 6400 resuming with lid closed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368704 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
