jcornwall was right: the problem is related to my internal wifi card, i.e. Atheros AR928X, using the ath9k driver. It turns out that the somewhat new ath9k driver provided out of the box with Jaunty can't play nice with avahi.
There's a simple solution however, i.e. upgrading the ath9k driver, by installing the backport module: sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-jaunty then reboot So clearly, this is not an avahi or Rhythmbox problem. ** Package changed: avahi (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) -- Jaunty - Rhythmbox doesn't show DAAP share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363768 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
