Gene, Yea, after looking around for a while, I can only guess it's Jaunty's Pulseaudio being screwy. I'm going to try a fresh install in a few days, but I don't expect much out of it. As for it being hda_intel module, I have no clue, but if you know a way to check, I'll gladly post results. And I think a separate bug would be a good idea, but I've never filed anything before, so if you want to do it, that'd be great.
