Ugh...Still no luck for me. I get through Alex's step 3 OK, I think,
but now running
sudo do-release-upgrade
nets me the following

There is a /tmp/tmp62d1Q5/ directory, but it's empty.
I'm at a loss. Anybody who has a bright idea will become my new best
friend. Because of this, I can't upgrade flash, so I've lost a bunch of
web functionality, and I just generally feel like a lame-o.
