I have the same problem in Ubuntu 9.04 when trying to install the Broadcom B43 wireless driver. I tried using the terminal interface for jockey, and this is what happened:
$ jockey-gtk --list firmware:b43 - Broadcom B43 wireless driver (Free, Disabled, Not in use) pkg:sl-modem-daemon - Software modem (Proprietary, Enabled, In use) $ jockey-gtk --enable="firmware:b43" Then a popup box asked me for my password. About a minute later I got an error saying: Sorry, the Jockey backend crashed. Please file a bug at: ubuntu-bug jockey-common Trying to recover by restarting backend. -- Jockey common crashes when trying to download restricted ATI driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369472 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
