After working less than a day using firefox and thunderbird (not package based) I had about 1 GB RAM and 1 GB swap in use, logout and restart X-server reset that to normal values.
I upgraded to dapper from mandriva 2006 (clean install of dapper), but the mozilla apps ran/run from a shared NFS mount (because mandriva didn't keep them updated enough). Those same applications gave this problem only under dapper's x-server. In the meantime, I upgraded the machine to Edgy and I'll keep an eye on the resource use. Of course, Edgy has more recent mozilla apps, so I could then stay with the distro versions. -- memory leak in xorg i810 of 6.06? https://launchpad.net/bugs/78772 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
