As _dan_ said, we're all very aware of the fix. I'd say most of us are using it. But the problem is that this isn't supported. It's an "official" unofficial work-around to restore deprecated behavior. We who are arguing against the new behavior are doing so *because* it is the new behavior -- the official behavior -- and think it is a move in the wrong direction.
