This problem still exists with the beep-media-player of Feisty. I don't
think this old version of beep is any longer maintained, though, so this
will likely not be fixed.
However, audacious is basically beep-media-player with a new name. I've
tested for the given problem in audacious; audacious seems to handle
desktop switches just fine. I'm going to go ahead and close this bug.
