This problem still exists with the beep-media-player of Feisty. I don't
think this old version of beep is maintained any longer, though, so this
issue will likely not be fixed.

However, audacious is basically beep-media-player with a new name. I've
tested for the given issue in audacious, and it does not seem to be a
problem there.
