Hey Tankdriver and Chris,
I've got the same issue with My HDX 18t on Ubuntu 9.04 64bit, kernel
2.6.28-11. Sound seemed to work fine in intrepid and I can get sound
through my head phones but not through the speakers. I'd like to do all
the things Chris suggested but I am still pretty new to Ubuntu.
I did, however, add this line to the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf:
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4
--
