Marc, The mythweb symlinks might be fixed, I'm not totally sure on that. I thought I remember having to do that on 8.10, but again that was an install long ago so I may be incorrect.
The default video_covers directory is fixed, I did that myself. Not at home at the moment, but IIRC it is now /var/lib/mythtv/posters and that directory gets installed by default (by default with mythvideo I believe). A quick install of 9.04 (or if anyone has one handy) would confirm that.
