Use "xlsfonts" to list all available fonts on your system (this command access directly to X11). Then use "xfd -fn lucidasanstypewriter-bold-12" to display the font. So you can get the name of fonts which do not display. If the font with it you had problem display well, the problem does not affect X11 font configuration.
