Thanks for following up Sebastien. I have not forgotten! This email thread
is on the top of my inbox. I normally archive anything I don't have to deal
with, so don't worry!

I have not HAD a chance, but luckily I'm not quite so stressed out now,
and I will get you some feedback tonight. I was able to do some preliminary
testing, but at the time I somehow bungled the process so I couldn't get any
meaningful results.

Would testing this using a 64bit Ubuntu (gnome) be OK? I've been playing
with some of the networking packages on my laptop, and I'm not sure that
what I did didn't effect this bug. I do know that my 64 bit desktop is as
close to default install as I can get after I make my normal config changes.

Let me know if I should use my laptop! Otherwise I'll try my best to get
you some results tonight or tomorrow morning.
