Bryce Harrington <[email protected]> Bryce,
Thanks very much for keeping me in the loop, however I won't be able to help you any further with this issue. You correctly identified the root cause to be lack of communication from the Sony monitor when it was probed. I retired this old monitor and replaced it with a much newer 1280 x 1024 Samsung monitor. When I reinitialized the video Ubuntu 9.04 reconfigured properly. Thanks again, Bruce At 11:58 PM 6/25/2009, you wrote: >I've posted a new version of the -nvidia driver to our xorg-edgers PPA, >would you mind testing it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it >resolves this bug? > >Get nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 - 185.18.14 here: > > https://edge.launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa > > >** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) > Status: Incomplete => New > >** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > >-- >[Nvidia 5200] resolution 640x480 only available >https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371391 >You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber >of the bug. > >Status in ânvidia-graphics-drivers-180â package in Ubuntu: Incomplete > >Bug description: >This problem has caused me problems since before version 7. >With clean install, resolution is only 640 x 480 >and can only be fixed by manually editing xorg.conf. >First I install Nvidia drivers. >I have a Sony Multiscan 200es connected to an >Nvidia 5200 card.
