Do you still have this problem with the new version of OOo in the ppa at
https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive ? I don't see this
problem with OOo 3.1.0 in karmic which is the same version in the ppa.

Search & Replace - russian "Ё" (yo) don't fit in lines, upper dots are hidden
so can be confusing between Е and Ё.
