This has happened again after a new round of updates. I've attached a
screenshot of the update-manager window showing the 4 updates for
version 2.6.28.13.45. Clicking "Install updates" flashes that button for
about 1/2 second, nothing more. Clicking "Check" rescans the
repositories, removes those 4 updates, and replaces them with the next
set of updates (as expected).

The 4 updates have been installed automatically, see result from "dpkg
-l":

$ dpkg -l | egrep 2.6.28.13.45
ii  linux-headers-2.6.28-13                    2.6.28-13.45
                          Header files related to Linux kernel version
ii  linux-headers-2.6.28-13-generic            2.6.28-13.45
                          Linux kernel headers for version 2.6.28 on x
ii  linux-image-2.6.28-13-generic              2.6.28-13.45
                          Linux kernel image for version 2.6.28 on x86
ii  linux-libc-dev                             2.6.28-13.45
                          Linux Kernel Headers for development

I would have expected that update-manager should have been refreshed
when the updates were silently installed. Failing that, pressing the
button could fake an installation and remove them from the list.
