According to According to http://intellinuxwireless.org/?n=Downloads a
new firmware for iwl-5000 has been released. If the file
(iwlwifi-5000-2.ucode) is placed into /lib/firmware and the linux-
backports-modules version of the iwlwifi driver is used, the problem
should be solved. Could someone verify this?
