I followed the advice to go from SYSTEM to MANAGED but then experienced a far worse CPU usage towards 120% (dual core laptop).
The network controller apparently does not work for me since my machine (running both as Eucalyptus server and client) is not prepared for Xen, which is a prerequisite.
