Chris: Greetings from the "Sunshine State" ;). Upon double clicking on a
pdf, jpg image, or a .mpeg movie on my computer there is a busy cursor
signal that appears until the program responsible for that particular
file type is loaded. A good idea for further integration would be to
show that same busy cursor for OpenOffice.org file types until either
the splash screen (during cold boot) or the program (during warm boot)
appears. On your computer you say that it takes less then 2 seconds for
the splash screen to show up, so it would seem appropriate for a busy
cursor to show in order for you to know that the computer registered
your clicks.
