Hi Michael, Just a few extra questions for you . . .
1) I notice from your dmesg output that you are connected to the network via your wired ethernet. Can you try disconnecting (ie unplug the network cable) and if wifi is not automatically detected, try rebooting while still remaining disonnected through your ethernet. If the issue then still remains please capture dmesg output again and attach for this scenario. 2) If you try to load the wl driver manually does wifi come up? sudo modprobe wl 3) Can you also please attach dmesg output when wifi is working with the working 2.6.28-14 kernel?
