Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: cups
I'm using Brother DCP135C printer with Intrepid (9.04).
Printout of OpenOffice documents is shifted about 1/4'' to the left and 3/4''
to the top. In the result the upper and the left edge are cut.
Tried to fix in "system-config-printer 1.1.3". Test printout shows the same
result.
Cross checked with openSuSe 11.1 DCP135C installation: printout in SuSe correct
and unshifted. Comparison shows different Imageable Area settings:
Page Size Lower-Left Upper-Right Resolution
Ubuntu 8.26x11.69 0.0x0.0 8.26x11.69 720x720
Suse 7.87x11.3 0.19x0.19 8.06x11.49 600x600
verified ppd-file and both are identical (except page size setting, but this
is not the problem in this case).
Checked the bug report log of the system-config-printer help function and
found:
'D [26/Aug/2009:13:09:37 +0200] [Job 45] *** stack smashing
detected ***: /usr/Brother/Printer/dcp135c/cupswrapper/brcupsconfpt1
terminated',
'D [26/Aug/2009:13:09:37 +0200] [Job 45] ======= Backtrace:

/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__fortify_fail+0x48)[0xb8036da8]',
Seems some program crashing under way. Print continues however but is
displaced. Manage to get complete printouts with 83% scaling, but printouts are
reduced in size and white bar at page bottom.
