You can still mount USB drives, but they won't be mounted automaticly in
the background, because that might   interfere with how GParted (or any
disk partitioning tool) works.

Currently, if you want to see a USB drive that you inserted after
starting GParted, you can choose the GParted -> Refresh Devices (Ctrl+R)
menu option.  This can't be done automaticly (AFAIK), as the
notification mechanism has to be disabled to avoid other issues.

I'm marking this "invalid", but if you have an idea about how to
(possibly) better the current behaviour, please let us know (here or on
the GParted bug tracker or on the gparted-dev mailing list).
