I can confirm this bug (exactly the same symptoms). I've tried several 'solutions' from other bug-reports, but no joy...
However, I read in the comments on bug #362359 (this comment: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/362359/comments/29 ) that the bug was first noticed after installing a tablet.
