I'm marking this bug "incomplete", until the coordination with Debian is
accomplished.
Please file a bug in the Debian BTS (referencing this report), and get a
consensus with them. Please link the Debian bug this this bug report
using the "Also Affects Distribution" link in Launchpad, and pasting the
Debian bug number.
Once you do that, we can move the state in Ubuntu from Incomplete to
Triaged, and I can try to get an upload in to Ubuntu.
