Hi, Is this a related bug? I have problems installing Broadcom STA driver in Karmic alpha5, alpha4 worked fine.
I made a new install of Karmic alpha5 on my Dell mini 9 with broadcom chipset wireless card. upgrade to latest packages is fine but each time I install the STA proprietary driver the machine locks up, I have to take the battery out to power down. On reboot the message was "kernel panic cannot mount unknown file system at 0,0" I couldn't get the machine to start so I made another install from cd and had no problems with the machine until I decided to activate the wireless. Again I used Administration/Hardware Drivers which sourced the proprietary driver, downloaded and installed. When I activated the driver the system locked up again. I took the battery out and this time when re-booted my install was still there and lo, I now have functioning wireless. I can supply a photo of the second locked screen and error message if helpful, will -- Broadcom 43xx wifi not working in Kubuntu Karmic alpha 4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415472 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
