Thanks for the personal response. However I decided to do a clean re-install of 32-bit Jaunty on my AMD-64 machine because of problems I was having with 64-bit Java while trying to connect via VPN to work.
But thanks a bunch anyway. I wanted you guys to be aware of the problem. Hence I filed a bug report.
