No problem, just trying to help where I can.

This machine is a test system with a virgin install of 9.04 Server
with LAMP, Samba, and SSH selected during install. It was updated from
the main repos as of the time the bug was posted. I installed
likewise-open from the default repos as well. I have not messed with
the repo list at all, so it is the default one for a 9.04 Server
install.

The /etc/samba/lwiauthd.conf mentioned in the doc page referenced did
not exist on my system.

Looking at the likewise docs I checked for the lsassd.conf file they
referenced in their docs in likely places and immediately noticed it
in /etc/likewise-open5/ so I attempted the change they mentioned there
and the domain join worked.

Similarly, when the /etc/init.d/likewise-open file did not exist,  I
found the lw-refresh-configuration file they mentioned in /usr/bin/
and applied their instruction for the refresh using that script. This
seemed to work.

I should mention that the original reason for my fiddling with this,
aside from play, was to get domain auth working with samba. Currently
on my system domain auth works for local logins but it is not
integrated with Samba. I have not had a chance to look at that issue
yet. Perhaps I messed up the integration using likewise's docs.

Sorry, I should have gotten that info into the original report. Bad
SysAdmin! No Cookie!  :)

Thanks for the follow up,
Jason
