Does it help if you disable Unredirect Fullscreen Window? You can change
this option in System->Preferences->CompizConfig Settings Manager in the
General Options. You'll have to install the compizconfig-settings-
manager package first.
Also, if at all possible, please try to reproduce this problem in
karmic.
