I have an Acer Aspire 3003NLMi and I get the same error in dmesg. However, in Karmic the control of the fan is problematic. Quite often the fan fails to start up and remains off even when the temperature goes up above 80 degrees C! It has not been a rare occurrence for my laptop to power off because of over heating (at 97 degrees C).
My main installation is Linux Mint 6 Fluxbox CE which is based on Intrepid... and I have no such problems with fan control there. I have started another thread but it seems this one is more active. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/435163 It is a real bummer to constantly keep an eye on CPU temps and throttle down manually when temps get too high. -- acerhdf - unknown (unsupported) BIOS version https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432049 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
