Hmm, it seems the function work the opposite way as I would exepct: if it's checked (use message indicator) there is _no_ icon, if it's unchecked there is. Also, I am not sure it's a desired behaviour or not, but at least using other applications having notification area icon usually works to show/hide window if I click on the icon, but it does not seem to work with empathy .... I can hide contact list window by closing the contact list (with the close button of the window), and reshow works by clicking on the icon thought but I would expect to be able to hide it with clicking on the icon too, like with almost any other similar applications. Maybe it's not a bug though, just my bad expections?
