that works fine for me, what i did was:
- create a playlist
- save it to disk
- delete the playlist from rhythmbox
- close & start rhythmbox
- import file -> selected the previously saved playlist

the playlist is the and can play the music, no issues here. do you have
any steps on how to reproduce the issue?  could you attach that playlist
to the report? Thanks!.
