Also I forgot to add that starting Conky using the -D flag gives me no output in terminal and no change to the system freeze effect. As I explained before once I launch Conky even with the -D flag the whole system freezes up and no output in the terminal.
I also noticed the last time I made it freeze that my peripheral devices such as mouse and keyboard stopped functioning correctly.
