To answer your questions:
1. You can enable debug mode by doing the following:
1a. Open ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf
2a. Add these two lines to that config file:
[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG
3a. Quit the Ubuntu One client and start again
4a. $ tail ~/.cache/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.log
5a. Do you see DEBUG entries in there? Debug mode is on.
2. I think the best you can do is repeat the steps you remember taking
before with debug mode on. Remember to enable debug mode on both
computers.
