Yes, it seems the driver isn't enabled. Type lsmod|grep rt2860sta to see if the driver is loaded. And, to see if the driver exists in your configuration, try modinfo rt2860sta . If these commands don't output anything or give errors, then there is no such module and it's just what jh says.
