I have the same issue. My laptop, Toshiba A500-14F with Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100 works perfectly in ubuntu 9.04. AP is a dlink DWL-G700AP works properly with any pc and wireless devices...the problem seems to be ubuntu 9.10, the wifi link is reloaded every two minutes, connecting and disconnecting from the network at random (copy & paste from Miguel post...i have the same issue)...i must use the wired connection.
