Thanks for testing uwe. So I believe there is really no problem with our controller under Karmic. The problem is that we used madwifi in Jaunty and had ath5k blacklisted to do so. When we updated to Karmic madwifi were no longer there but ath5k were still blacklisted.
So I think this is a bug in the upgrade process. A possible solution would be to detect the use of madwifi + atheros controller at upgrade time and remove the ath5k module from the blacklist (or at least warn the user), so users don't reboot to find out they no longer have wifi working (or even worst in my case: to find out I no longer had how to access the internet to find out a solution to the problem). -- unable to launch wireless connection after upgrading to Karmic with ar5001x https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/471877 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
