More precisely this is not just a complaint about the default behavior
of having to type in the username versus clicking on one in the list. It
is a real bug - changing the setting to display the list does nothing!
Go to System Settings -> [tab] Advanced -> Logon Manager (KDM) -> [enter
password] -> [tab] Users -> [left bottom under Users] set the checkmark
for "Show list". (Setting the application language to English and
restarting the system settings only changes some texts to English while
others stay German, so I am guessing at some of the texts.) Reboot. No
change.
