Thanks. Actually I wonder if there is a deeper issue in X mode
detection in general that should be fixed, rather than switching
ModeValidation off across the board. But this could be a useful
workaround in the meanwhile.

When using NVIDIA driver wrong resolutions are picked causing *out of range*
error from monitors OSD and cannot display analog signal from VGA output to TV
because of refresh rates
